All In The Family show complete dvd box set collection all tv episodes and seasons on dvds

The Emmy award winning sitcom all in the family show DVD collection was created by Norman Lear and based on the British sitcom created by Johnny Speight entitled till death do us part; All in the Family aired to the American public on the CBS television network from the 12th of January 1971 to the 8th of April 1979. The sitcom was revised by producers in September 1979, earning itself a new title named Archie Bunkers Place; this continuation off the sitcom would air to an American audience for another four years before finally concluding in 1983.

The television sitcom "All in the family" show touched on sensitive political issues among its primarily American audience including issues such as racism, homosexuality, rape, womens liberation, abortions and miscarriages, menopause, impotence, and breast cancer among others. Doing so is probably the reason why it ranked highly scoring first in the Nielsen ratings held yearly from 71 to 76. All in the family holds the prestigious accolade of being one of Americas sitcoms to score highly for at least 5 consecutive seasons; this accolade as of 2009 is held only by the Cosby show, and American idol.

All In The Family dvd show has also been ranked by TV guides 50 greatest television shows at a respectful number 4. The revised sitcom follows the life of Archie Bunker who role is played by Carroll OConnor; Archie is a working class WWII veteran with a very outspoken and abrasive demeanor towards American citizens not born in the United States. His character is portrayed as a person who is politically conservative, an Anglo-Saxon Protestant and a Heterosexual who disagrees sometimes radically with people who do not fall in line with his view of the world.

He has a strong longing of a time when his view of the world was shared among the majority and it is this arrogance that tends to lead him into nostalgic arguments with him on the losing end. On a side note, this nostalgic attitude is captured quite appropriately in the series original theme song entitled those were the days. His wife is the contrasting figure in the show, with her understanding and sweet character. She often differs with her husband and on occasion takes a stand against him that would later prove wise; despite their differences their affection for each other is unquestionable.
